Jr. Trail Guide Program

What is it? It’s a fun, FREE, creative learning experience about outdoor safety, natural sciences and cultural anthropology, before hitting the trails to learn and practice safe exploration techniques while out exploring the National Monument.

Presented by the Friends of the Desert Mountains in support of the National Monument, this program connects children ages 8 – 14 to their natural surroundings, while helping to build a strong foundation of outdoor ethics and safety habits. Participants learn about local area flora, fauna, geology, geography and native cultures of our valley and surrounding mountains. Participants receive rewards for completing the program.
