Wildflower Celebration at the San Jacinto Mountains National Mounument Visitor's CenterPALM DESERT, CA – The Santa Rosa & San Jacinto Mountains National Monument Visitor Center will be the location of a fun, free event for outdoor enthusiasts and family members of all ages on Saturday, February 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wildflower Celebration 2009 will feature wildflower-related photography & plant workshops, guided hikes & nature walks, live music, wildlife and landscape art, frontier displays, live animals, and booksignings by renowned local authors. The Santa Rosa & San Jacinto Mountains National Monument Visitor Center is located at 51-500 Highway 74, Palm Desert, California, just four miles south of Highway 111. Free parking will be available at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, 47-535 Highway 74, with free shuttle service to and from the National Monument Visitor Center. Last year the Wildflower Celebration drew over a thousand visitors. Thanks to the recent rains, event organizers are hoping that this year will be even more exciting and colorful.
